Our March health focus, from a Chinese Medicine perspective,  is to control the Heart fire which can help regulate your emotions this month

Fengshui aspect:

Before we dive into the health tips, it's important to understand the relationship between Fengshui and health in the Chinese culture. The day the month begins is Yang Earth on a Dog, the year is Yang Wood on a Dragon and the hour is Yang Metal on a Monkey. Since the Yang element is related to energy, movement and the rising motion, it is going to be a month with high emotions.

“All types of relationships are being challenged this month from Heads of State, Countries to Personal relationships.”

5-element

Health aspect:

Here are some great tips for managing anxiety and stress levels, especially during a strong fire month as fire is related to the heart.

  1. Stay hydrated: Since the water element is missing in the month, it’s even more important to stay hydrated to balance the fire element. Drinking room temperature water is advised for digestive health.
  2. Consume cooling foods and drinks: Cooling foods and drinks can help alleviate anxiety and reduce heat in the body. Examples include mint tea, chrysanthemum tea, bitter melons, and watermelons. These can help balance the excess fire energy and balance health. Check out our tasty cucumber salad recipe!
  3. Ensure quality sleep: Aim for 8 hours of sleep per night to support your body’s natural healing processes and regulate mental health.
  4. Engage in regular exercise: Exercise is a powerful tool for managing anxiety and stress. Activities like yoga, pilates, Tai chi, swimming, and meditation can help calm the mind and relax the body. Additionally, even just half an hour of walking can be beneficial for reducing stress levels and promoting overall health.
